The quality standards and the associated toolkit were developed for the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine to provide guidance and set expectations for the provision of equitable, safe, and high-quality emergency care in EDs and other hospital-based emergency care services.

The standards and the toolkit were created in tandem to ensure identifiable connections between the two documents making use of both documents simultaneously a simple process for the user. The toolkit’s 800 pages were formatted as an interactive PDF to allow clinicians to easily navigate to the relevant content with ease.
